This boiler was purchased new from Downeast Outdoor Boiler in Ellsworth, Maine in 2013 and has been used regularly until recently. The Central Boiler ECL3200 is a large capacity bulk wood furnace for hydronic heating, using water flowing through pipes to deliver heat. (This model was purchased with the added accessory of an ignition-ready interior propane torch that relights the fire if necessary.)
The boiler has successfully heated three buildings: a small home, a large 1100 square foot greenhouse, and a large shop in a barn. It will be fully functional when connected to piping at a new location. It has been carefully maintained and is in good shape. The owner recently shifted to propane heating due to his age and the physical effort necessary to service this bulk wood boiler.
The current system employed a Modine-style air handler to heat the large shop. It may be included in the sale of the boiler as a purchase option. This air handler is a compact, ceiling‑mounted unit designed to warm garages, workshops, barns, and light‑commercial spaces using hot water circulated from the outdoor wood boiler.
A second air-handler is currently located in the greenhouse. This air handler is like those used in homes, garages, etc. It is another purchase option.
In addition, two traditional room radiators are currently in the small home. They are additional purchase options.
